Orleans Homes
This historic town in Barnstable County is named in honor of the Duke of Orleans, Louis Phillip II, in recognition and appreciation of France's support of the 13 colonies during the American Revolution. Having been twice-captured by the British during the War for Independence, the town did not want an English name, so Orleans was selected. Now, more than 200 years after it was officially incorporated - it was long considered an offshoot of nearby Eastham - Orleans has become an attractive place to both live and visit.
